Dustin Poirer defeats Max Holloway in a slugfest!

The fight began with Poirer showing that there was a clear power difference early on. Holloway got stunned 4 times in the first two rounds, and by the second round he had already absorbed the 2nd most significant strikes out of all of his 20 UFC fights. Poirer looked like he was slowing down in the 3rd but came back in the end with the more powerful punches. Don’t get me wrong, Holloway kept the pressure and was also landing but it just seemed that his punches weren’t doing as much damage as Poirers. Dustin Poirer took the unanimous decision on all three judges scorecards to win the lightweight title.
